An explainer video is a short animated video that focuses on explaining a business idea in a simple, engaging and compelling way by using clear and concise language and appealing and attractive visuals that quickly grab the viewer’s attention.

Sometimes an explainer video can be more impactful than a live action video. How do you know which is better in a particular situation? Here’s an easy test.

  2. Can the ideas be readily expressed through words and simple imagery?
  3. Is the story more about explanation than emotion?

If you answered “yes” to these questions, an explainer video may be the better choice.

Be careful to keep your explainer video simple. You don’t want the viewer to get lost in extraneous details — boil the story down to its essential elements. And keep it as short as possible.
