How one university is using online video and social media to reach students

Colleges and universities across the country are facing a big challenge these days:  How to keep enrollment numbers up, in the face of a shrinking pool of incoming college-age students.

Competition for students in the Philadelphia region, with its abundance of colleges and universities, is intense. The University of the Arts concluded that the best way to reach prospective students is to engage them early in the process through online video and social media.

UArt’s Paul Healy said “We’ve known that our prospective undergraduate student audience reacts favorably to video content that’s relevant, fresh and – above all – real.” We partnered with UArts to produce a yearlong series of videos that provide an honest and authentic look at specific degree programs that the school offers.
